February 2010

February was a busy month for our family. I kept Lyla's cousins, Gage, Braelyn and Cayden, and we found out that we would be moving to South Carolina. Keeping four kids (3 under 16 months) and moving was an experience! The kids were great though and kept each other entertained while I packed up boxes. Here are some of the highlights from February.

A Texas at Heart

Valentine's Day

We took full advantage of living near my parents on Valentine's Day. My steak loving husband made reservations at the XXL Steak house outside of Stinnett. It was a nice drive, but I was glad we had a truck. It is in the middle of nowhere, down a long, dark dirt road! But it was worth the body jarring trip out there. The steak took up half the plate! It was wonderful enjoying time with my husband. We had the little cabin all to ourselves and I was reminded why I love him so much. He is the funniest person I know and he loves me for who I am. A big carnivore!

Snow Mobile

Lyla got to experience her first big snow while we lived in Borger. She loved watching the snow fall but was not so sure about getting out in the drifts. Daddy had the idea to push her around in her car. The "snow mobile" made the snow lots more fun for Lyla and what a workout for me and TJ!

Lyla has always been independant. Recently she has decided that she likes to feed herself. She gets some in her mouth...

Little Cutie

Lyla got some really cute clothes for her birthday, but with her short legs it took a few months to fit into the 12 month clothes! She looooves pink. My mom started letting her choose clothes, bows, etc a few months back and without fail she picks pink.

Family Time

Alayna, Teri and Patty came out to visit T.J.'s grandpa Joe in January. Lyla and Alayna made brownies and kept the residents at the nursing home entertained with dancing and singing. They were so sweet to the people there, giving lots of hugs and smiles at diner time. They enjoyed playing together too!

Tent Dwellers

Lyla got a tree house tent for Christmas. I am not sure who has enjoyed it more, Lyla or us. She loves to drag all her baby dolls and books into her tent and have us join her. It has kept her entertained for a long time!
