10 Month Pictures

I took Lyla to Portrait Innovations to have her 10 month/summer pictures taken. She did a wonderful job until they tried to make her sit on a stool. It freaked her out and we were done from there. So the cute turquoise fish dress was not photographed so well. But we got some great shots at the beginning!

Christmas Pictures

Lyla's Christmas pictures were so cute this year. She loves smiling for the camera!

Meet the Bulldogs

Nana got Lyla a cute Bulldog t-shirt so that she can cheer for Borger this year. Aunt Haylee took her to Meet the Bulldog to see our cousin, Trenton. He is the Quarterback for the dogs this season.

Window Watcher

One of the great things (and there are very few) about our rent house is that is has huge windows in the living room. If Lyla is ever "missing" we know right where to look. She really likes looking at all of the cars drive by. It is also the first time she has had a screen door. They weren't really necessary in Louisiana so she has never had the opportunity to stand and look out. Especially since she just learned to stand at the first of this summer!

TJ's 31st Birthday

TJ turned 31 on August 10th! Lyla and I made him a homemade Key Lime Pie, his favorite. It was a day ruled Murphy's Law. First my car wouldn't start, then I locked myself out of the house with a car load of groceries, I couldn't find the juicer so I had to hand squeeze two pounds of key limes, no time to shower or decorate and I had to wait for TJ to let me in the house so no surprises for him. Not quite the way I had it envisioned! But he enjoyed his day so that is all that matters!

Later in the week, we had our friends over for a BBQ to celebrate. TJ is one of the best grillers around. Here is Lyla and her friend, Bryn, waiting on the food!

Dancing Pants

Lyla has some cute outfits that her Nino made her for the spring/summer. She loves to dance in her fancy pants.

Shaking her groove thang

Our friends, Erica and Charlotte, were in from Dallas so we had them over to play. All of us girls had a great time! Lyla wants to be as big as her older friends. It drives her nuts to not walk with them!

Big Girl Chair

Lyla out grew the Bumbo back in July so we had to get out her pretty high chair that Nino and Poppy bought her. She enjoys being so high up and likes having her own seat at the table, rather than on the table.

Patty Cake

Lyla's great grandma taught her patty cake over the summer and Lyla loves to play. She hasn't quiet got the "roll 'em" part down yet but the rest is perfect!

Bathing Beauty

Lyla has so many cute swim suits this year. These are two of my favorites. The first one her Nino embroidered and the second is from her Nana. She is wearing her matching cover-up and her Teva sandals. Her daddy thought she needed a pair since he loves them so much.

Swimming Lessons

Lyla and I took Red Cross Infant Swimming lessons this summer. As much as Lyla likes the water, we thought it would be a good idea to teach her water safety. We took them with our friends, Lauren & Bryn. Lyla did a great job of kicking and did ok with the dunking. Mommy was more afraid of that than she was. She had a pretty short attention span, but hopefully that will grow with her.
