Pretty Pretty Princesses

For Christmas, my parents got Lyla the entire collection of Disney Princess dolls. Lyla is obsessed with the Disney Princesses. She loves the movies and is perfectly happy with any toy, as long as Ariel or Cinderella, or Jasmine on there. We have to get the "girls ready for the ball". She is adorable playing with them. She will have them tell each other that they "look wonderful" and make up songs for them to dance to. She knows all the princes and has the girls meet them there. It's hilarious. I never thought I would raise a princess, but she loves them so much I can't say no. We will work on the fairytale parts later.

First Day of Kindermusik

Kindermusik is Lyla's "school". She loves going. My usually sleepy girl jumps out of bed on Wednesday morning so that she can see her friends and teacher, Ms. Jennifer. I can not say enough good things about this program. Lyla can recite poems, sing songs and has developed a love for musical instruments. Her daddy and I are not musical (other than loading an ipod) so I can only attribute it to our classes.
My mom always took first day of school pictures of my sister and I so I had to make Lyla part of this tradition as well!

Cupcake Cutie

Since we were downtown, we took Lyla to Baked. After Mazi's birthday, Lyla decided she "loves" cupcakes. They were huge and so delicious! She had to wear her new sunglasses. She is so funny when she gets them on. She had to have them on her head, just like mom.

Jump, Rock N Roll

Peggy and I took the girls to Jump Rock and Roll on James Island. I am not sure who had more fun. I liked that they would let us get in and bounce with the girls. It was not crowded and no big kids were there to bounce the little ones out of the jumpers.

Valentine's Day

I love holidays with our Love Bug! We started the morning with heart shaped pancakes and strawberry milk and then decorated our princess Valentine's. Next we opened gifts from Nana, Aunt Sherry, Meme, and Grandma. Then off to the movies to see Gnomeo and Juliet. Lyla loves going to the movies, mostly for the popcorn! Then home to help me make diner for Daddy and decorate cookies for dessert. It was a wonderful day!

January 2011

Lyla is 27 months old and completely potty trained! I had given up until after we returned from our OKC/Borger trip but while we were there she decided she was ready. It had to be her idea! I wonder where she gets that? She has done amazingly well. I was a little nervous for our flight back but she did great. She has been #2 trained since before Christmas, but we were having a hard time with the other. She made the choice on her own and it has gone smoothly ever since. Another milestone complete! We also enjoyed finger painting for the first time, another trip to Lady and Sons with Nino and two of Lyla's great-grandmothers, and rock climbing and pedicures for our niece, Mazi's, 7th birthday. What a fun month!

TJ's 32nd Birthday

For TJ's 32nd birthday, we all went to eat at Bushido for sushi. Lyla and Mazi made him cookies and had way too much fun with the chop sticks. He got lots of golf clothes to go with his birthday/father's day gift of new TaylorMade After Burner clubs. It was a great evening!
