Lyla's 1st Birthday Party

We celebrated Lyla's First Birthday on Saturday, October 3rd, a day early, so that out-of-town family and friends could celebrate with us. I decided on a jungle theme since Lyla is a "Wild One". It turned out perfectly! The decorations were super-cute and Lyla had a wonderful time! There are a lot of pictures, but come on, you only have a first birthday once, so humor this proud mom!

Pigtails and Funny Hats

While Nino was here she showed me how to put pigtails in Lyla's hair. It takes a lot of water and some distraction for Lyla to sit still but the end result it worth it. They look so cute! We took her to Borger's Midnight Madness downtown to show off the new do and maybe get some bargains. We ran into Nana, Aunt Meme and Aunt Sherry.

The first cold day of fall and mommy couldn't wait to get her sweater and hat on! I found them at the Children's Place outlet for $.99 and bought them before she was born. They looked so cute on Lyla with her $9 Merrells. I hope she loves bargain shopping as much as her mom does! She was nice and toasty for her first real cold day in the Panhandle!

First Sleep Over

Lyla had her first sleep over in September. Her cousin, Gage, spent the night along with his older brother and sister. We had the best time! After the big kids went to school, Lyla and Gage played together all day long. Lyla enjoyed having someone besides mom to play with. He is a great baby and I had hoped he would teach Lyla how to be a better sleeper. No such luck!

Honey Crisp Apples

One of my favorite things about fall is the arrival of Honey Crisp Apples in the grocery stores! They are the BEST apples and I buy them in bulk. I was so excited to share them with Lyla! She liked them a lot and wanted to take a bite out of each slice, but just one bite and then have mommy finish it so she could move on to the next slice.
