Homecoming Parade

Lyla and I went downtown to the Borger Homecoming Parade. She really had a great time, but she is a parade professional after attending New Orleans Mardi Gras. She was waving her princess wave and getting lots of candy!

Pigtails

This is mommy's first attempt at doing more than sticking a bow in her hair. Not too bad, considering I am NOT a hair person. Luck for Lyla, two of her aunts are cosmetologists! I will keep practicing...

Borger Bulldog Football

We took Lyla to her first Borger High School football game on Friday. We had the CUTEST uniform made for her this year in Panhandle. Of course she had a wonderful time - lights, noise, pompoms and people are some of her favorite things. Even though we didn't get the win, we all had a fun time.

Cheerleading Photos

We had to take our pictures for the September photo card. We decided to do a back to school card in our cheerleading uniform. Lyla did a great job! I have way too much fun taking these pictures!

Lyla loves her pompoms!

We have smiling for the camera down!

See her top teeth!!

Eleven Months

I can hardly believe that Lyla is almost a year old! We have been busy planning her first birthday bash. Our "L" pictures are becoming more difficult every month. It usually ends up in her mouth for most shots. At 11 months, Lyla is talking up a storm. Her vocabulary includes: daddy, poppa (my dad), baby, ball, Yaya= Lyla, bye bye, baba=bottle/cup or drink, bibbit= frog, ducky, bibi=bite, puppy, hi, and Mmm for anything that tastes good to her. She can stand by herself and has taken a few steps but still likes crawling for tansportation. She loves playing with her babies, pompoms and musical instruments. She is a great dancer and can already keep a beat. Any type of rhythm gets her moving, from the washing machine to cars booming down our street.
She enjoys singing along to the radio and looking out our windows. Lyla loves a crowd and is very charming for her audience. She already has a sweet tooth and is a great eater. Still not really fond of sleeping but we are used to it. Peek-a-boo and patty cake are two of her favorite games and we play them often. She changes more every day and each day with her is such a blessing. I don't know what I ever did before she was born. Nothing this important, that is for sure!

Peek a Boo

Lyla has enjoyed playing Peek a Boo for a while now but we finally got around to documenting the game. We often play this to get her to stop messing with her hair bows or to distract her in general. One of my favorite mom tricks!

Bed Head

One of the interesting things about curly hair is that you never know how it will look in the morning. Lyla has had some dos in the mornings since her massive hair explosion.

Flying high with daddy is one of her new favorite games.
